Kazaa is one of those things that everyone has, but everyone knows that it's wrong. That's the way our society works. But Kazaa is intrusive. Have you ever realized how much spy ware is stuffed into your computer when you install it? If you find a Cydoor file folder in your travels, you've got spies.

Spy ware is also known as ad-ware because they are programs, installed on your computer, that read your files or where you go on the internet, then relay them back to somewhere - whether it's a store or a company, like Kazaa or Safeway. That's how they find out if you like certain things. Sometimes they'll compile all of the information they gather to create a guide, which they use to decide what to sell or offer.

What good does spy ware do you? None. Spy ware is a program that intrudes in your computer, reading your files and whatnot. Do you really want someone looking at all your stuff? I didn't think so.

Kazaa is loaded with spy ware. The most obvious is Cydoor, a program that Kazaa needs to run off of. If you don't have Cydoor on your computer, you can't run Kazaa. So if you delete the Cydoor folder, you just lost your Kazaa.

But I have found an alternative: a program known as Kazaa Lite K++. Sounds just like Kazaa, doesn't it? Well, it is. Exactly like Kazaa Lite, it's got the same interface, same looks, same files. But what it doesn't have is the intrusive spy ware and loads of other stuff that Kazaa gives you. Plus, it has plenty of other benefits. It does things faster by checking less often for new files, it allows you to Search More infinitely, it has Speed Up options that look for other sources for your download and then uses them to speed up your connection. All that and more.

What's the catch? None that I can find. K++ is completely free, a hacked version of Kazaa. It is NOT made by the company that runs Kazaa. It just draws the files off the Kazaa database. It has no spy ware because it replaces the real Cydoor with a dummy file that the Kazaa Lite program thinks is the real Cydoor. Brilliant, isn't it? And so far, I have found nothing wrong with it.

Where do you get this wonderful program? If you go to www.techtv.com and then search for Kazaa (or Kazaa Lite K++) it will come up with the article. Open the article, press the Download Now button, and you're on your way. It's 2.8 MB, so if you're on dial-up, it'll take roughly twenty-five minutes. Enjoy your new privacy!
